Ok so when giving a newborn a bath can you use the soap and lotions? I've been told that I couldn't just thought I'd ask…

I used a TINY bit of soap when washing but I always rinsed her as we were finishing with the water coming straight from the faucet to help rinse off all the extra soap so it wouldn't stay on her skin

sponge baths only until the umbilical cord falls off then try to only use a chemical free wash (I love burts bees). It's best to wait a month for anything else, lotions included, because they are trying to adjust to so much already. use breastmilk until then :)

@mrs.mccormick, I know to use baby products and I little bit of soap @mdomke22 my cousin told me that that doctor told her not to use it so I just found it a little weird bc I've never heard of that before

and it's a myth... you can totally do a normal bath with he cord on. they did it with my baby in the hospital and I asked about it. they said its perfectly fine if you pat dry around the cord area
