Hi everyone, my son is 10 days old and this is my husband and my first child. I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with the following issues and can lend some support/advice because with being exhausted and a FTM I'm feeling overwhelmed. My son is having issues with gas after breastfeeding, we cannot get him to burp and have tried multiple positions, he just screams and cries which makes me cry. Also I know I'm dealing with the baby blues and again with this being my first baby I'm not sure what to expect. Any help would be appreciated!

Girl I swear I had the gassiest baby you'd ever see. I was not anticipating the problems we had. She screamed all night from gas. I could hear and feel it but she just couldn't get it out and I tried everything! I really hate to use any medicines but after a month I broke down and got mylicon gas drops. After one day she was a completely different baby. I also had windis. They're little catheters that you insert in their little booty and it expels the gas for them. Some people feel that's too invasive but I was comfortable using them. Just be sure to burp all the time and try every position. Sophia burped best on her belly across my knees. Hang in there momma!! It'll get easier ☺️

Also see a lactation consultant! Gas can sometimes be a latch issue that's easily corrected.

Thank you so much for your response- I know it hasn't been long but I feel totally overwhelmed seeing my baby struggle so much. A friend told me to try gripe water have you heard of this?
