im still trying to get a hang of this breastfeeding thing. he ate real well at like 10:30 and i gave him a little sponge bath.i wore him out i admit but he still aint trying to eat and its almost 2pm..i tried to feed him at 1 and he only ate for 5 minutes. now sleep again. he is 8 days , is this ok??? he's such a sleepy baby.

@vannah, most of your milk will come out within the first 10 min, and it comes out fast. as long as you feed him when he is hungry, it is okay if he sleeps alot.

yea at his 3 day check he was already back to his birth weight but he was eating more often...thanks!! @emilyd

Babies can be very sleepy in their first few days of life. As long as he is producing wet and messy diapers, he is getting enough nutrition. At his 2 week check, you will find out if he is gaining weight. If so, keep doing what you're doing, mama 😃
