how many of you mommies drank castor oil to induce labor?

I did with both pregnancies but it only worked with my son

nothing bad happened either times. I heard it can be but I dont know many people that tried it and had problems from it. if you have had a normal pregnancy you should be fine.

i did too with 3 and worked fine

i drank a tea spoon with a cup of oj... then i had a spoon full with a cup of oj 2 hrs later then just waited and sure enough was in labor that night ...but u have to be at least 37 weeks for it to worj

@hernandez, @tattooedmommyto3 how far along were you? and how much progress did your body make on its own before hand? I'm 38 weeks measuring 2 weeks ahead at 2 cm and 75% effaced.

@paytonlensing, good! I'm still considering it. I'm googling it right now actually. I want to make sure I understand what I'm doing to my body and the risks. if something were to go wrong because I was selfish and impatient I don't know if I'd be able to forgive myself. 😐

I was two days before my due date! and I hadn't made any progress and then after drinking it i started having contractions like two hours later. @lexij

@tattooedmommyto3, @paytonlensing @hernandez was it a boy or girl it worked with? everyone I know who said it worked had a boy.

it worked with my son who was my first baby and not with my daughter the four times I tried it lol. but you never know. @lexij

@tattooedmommyto3, did it make you really sick when you took it and it didn't work?

i had a boy and a girl @lexij. my 2 year old is a girl my 1 year old is a boy

@hernandez, awesome! that makes me feel so much better. lol there is hope even with having a girl. 😂

it made my stomach hurt for like 30 minutes but that was it. I think my daughter was just not ready because I got induced as well but got sent home because nothing was happening lol @lexij

@tattooedmommyto3, the Dr said she's right there and once I dilate I won't have to push long. he defiantly made it sound like she's ready. otherwise I wouldn't even be considering this.

@tattooedmommyto3, I cleaned my house, finished laundry, did the rest of my homework for the week, and picked some up. I'm going to sleep tonight, get my son on the bus for preschool tomorrow take my first dose (if I don't chicken out) and then take the second when he gets home around 1130. lol maybe. I'm nervous still.

@tattooedmommyto3, at once? I think I'm going to so 1 tsp with a cup of oj then the same 3-4 hours later. I don't want to over do it.
