It is, are you on meds or insulin? This is my 2nd Pregnancy with diabetes I had it controlled and got off my insulin pump but now pregnant my blood glucose levels are everywhere.
I didn't need anything I was on a controlled diet according to my clinic but I really didn't lol I just didn't over do anything i know orange juice spikes it all the way up so I drank small amounts I craved it and I watched the sweets everything else I was ok just smaller portions
@mechelle444, I've been the same way as @mimiz! I can eat pretty much anything and my sugar levels have been either perfect or really low. I'm diet controlled as well. I just eat small portions of sweets and carbs.
I had a 2 hour class today about it at the clinic and got my glucose meter I have to test 4 times a day then go back to review my levels. no it doesn't always go away my mom got diabetes after having kids and they said it's a 60 percent chance you'll get diabetes after child birth and a 80 percent change you developed diabetes within 10 years especially if you have a family history of it happened after GD or diabetes prior to pregnancy
also I'm suppose to diet control too but i told them I'll change my eatting habits not follow their ridiculous diet they want me having no fruit no milk no juice all I eat is juice and fruit I like it more than other foods and I was just anemic so I'm not going to reduce my food portions and pass out over them they want me to wakeup and go to bed certain times to eat around their schedule too that's ridiculous I'll just water down my juices and eat less servings of fruit and I'm also going to ask for another blood draw because mine wasn't fasting and I had a milkshake 15 mins before my blood draw and I want one fasting I don't believe we all have gestional diabetes I believe it's due to non fasting test and eatting prior to doing it raises those glucose levels because when I search online most women have gd that's not possible to me and I refuse to take insulin
I had GD with my 3rd child and then again with my 4th but it got worse. I ended up on a pump and after the baby I was diagnosed with diabetes. I have lost weight which has helped my A1C levels. Just scared it is going to get worse again.
