I had a really bad dream or daze last night that I had my baby and she had down syndrome. And I was just so disappointed. I wasn't all in love like how when everyone sees there baby at birth. That was a weird dream but in reality idk my reaction. That's really bad but its a lot more work to have a child with a disability. I honestly can't say I would be happy about it. Our lives would change. I know most of y'all probably gonna be mad at this post but I'm more then sure the other half of y'all would agree.

You can get a blood test that tests for DS, otherwise don't worry

the test is 80 percent accurate and watch a show called born this way it's people with down syndrome living normal live because they family don't make them feel special needs I too had learning difficulty because I skipped school since kindergarten and was hospitalized alot for asthma. I had to take some special classes and they do not treat you normal the teacher talk to me like I'm a moron and the math was beyond easy to me I was smartest in your classes because the other kids were slow I was just disadvantage from not being in attendance frequently my point is a disability only affects you if your taught your less than. I know some with dyslexia who at work we had to read and she reads better than the other workers because they are immigrants and less educated. so you may not be the smartest but are the smartest in the room.

I also never wanted a special needs child but as you age you learn and by learning you aware it not their fault if you kid have illness it your fault so you man up and take care of them and help them live a normal quality of life

@babes101116 I really don't think it would happen to me. I really don't know if I was tested already or not. or if my doctor only test if it runs in the family..its not really a concern of mine but the dream did make me think a bit @blackbutterfly yes I agree it's not there fault but everyone is not cut out to raise a special needs child

raising special needs isn't hard it's people are embarrassed of their own damn child because they passed down a gene to them that caused their illness or deformity instead of accepting them there alot of resources and public benefits especially for people with illnesses. on the show 2 boys just moved into a large nice house I'm jealous that Hud a housing program is helping pay for because of their illness and they are learning daily living skills and have a mentor who lives with them to help assist them it's not a burden but people don't want to do it because they are embarrassed everyone wants a pretty kid with good hair and hopefully colored eyes or atleast one who can entertain their friends and family by being smart or acting cute nobody wants a child with a health issue. not that anyone should want one but noone shouldn't disapprove of them because they have one that's immature

I agree with @blackbutterfly my youngest brother has autism and you can't even tell cause he was treated just like everyone else growing up. But you are more than allowed to admit you wouldn't feel comfortable with raising a special needs child, I'm sure it's not as easy for some as it is for others 💛

admitting isn't the issue I watch the show they have conferences and the parents some anyways admit they were embarrassed and ashamed and weren't comfortable but they are still loving the person and learning that the issue isn't the child it's themselves they don't love and accept self so how can they accept someone with a deformity. I command one mom for not only saying this but saying it in front of child and hundreds of people and apologizing for wanting to medicate her because her differences weren't like other kids/adults. we have to learn to accept people for who they are not what society says they should be.
