Failed the one hour glucose test. I have to take a three hour one next, I'm inly 9 weeks, 3 days. I took the test at about 8 weeks, 3 days. I had a McDouble and small fry an hour or two before I tested. Could that be why I failed? I thought you could eat the day of the test

Yes that's why you failed, fast food has tons of sugar in it

Youre not supposed to eat 2 hours before the test, and you should eat something light. thats probably why you failed. hope you pass the next one! good luck

My doctor said to not eat anything after midnight before your test

That's crazy! All I had was a mcDouble and a small fry... One or two hours before....

a mcdouble has a bun, which contains carbs. carbs = sugar. fries are also carbs

Yeah that's why you failed. You're supposed to fast ( not eat or drink anything but water) for at least 10-12 hours before the test.

lots of simple carbs in that meal that convert directly to glucose so definitely could have been a factor just as an FYI blood sugar peaks at 2 hours after eating so something else to consider

I had to take a 3 hour one at 8 weeks and I was told to fast. couldn't eat anything after midnight up till the test was over I passed and now I have a one hour one in 2 weeks but wasn't told if I needed to fast or not.
