My son was jaundice but they sent me home with a bili blanket and i had to leave him on a light all day. It was annoying at first but then it was so bad. he survived it and it doesnt hurt him. nicu is different. never had a nicu baby before

@2queenbee9, it's intense. especially after 40 hours of labor, an emergency c-section, and no sleep. I held him for 6 hour before they came on to take him away. They would prick his heels every 2 hours to check his sugars. he would just cry and scream. his poor heels were black and blue from the bruising. they would squeeze his little foot so hard.

@2queenbee9, I think he still remembers the pricks because he hates any type of pressure on his heels.

Kids are strong and bounce right back. I had to go to the lab 3 times a day to check his and they pricked his heel. He only cried one of the times but other than that he was fine. kids can handle a lot. He is just fine. dont worry

my friend went full term with her baby and shes been in the nicu for a month now. its sad seeing her go through it. nobody deserves to see their baby sick.
