Sometimes when my baby breathes he makes this high pitch whistling/wheezing sound but has no other…

I asked my Dr while my son was in nicu, he said it was normal that babies produce more saliva and don't necessarily swallow like adults do. I asked if I could use a nasal bulb to get it out but she told me that was a bad idea lol

So it can cause a high pitched sound when they breathe? It would put my mind at ease at least @mum2logi

without hearing it I wouldn't know if it's the same as my son or no, but I'm pretty sure it's normal. when is his next dr appt?

Is it like a squeaking noise when he sleeps?

Supposed to be Wednesday and yea it's like a squeak but it doesn't really happen in his sleep it's more so when he's awake and inhales @savanahr777 @mum2logi

My daughter squeaked but only when she was in a deep sleep scared the crap out of me the first time we heard it but for sure ask the dr

just talk to the regular dr about it, if you could record it on your phone when he does it to show him that would be good. count his breaths per minute 3 different times.. at nicu they told me my son's was supposed to be below 60 before he could go home but they sent him home with it in the 90s at times.. he might be getting out just a little bit of fluid. and I doubt it, I'm just saying what I'm thinking because I'm a paranoid mom lok. don't worry about it too much though. sounds normal.
