Thoughts on circumcision? I've been thinking about it since I'm having a boy & wondering why…

I chose not to do it as really theres no reason to, unless theres a medical reason for it (infection) there really is no reason. This whole thing about it being "cleaner" is complete b.s.

I chose not too. His dad isn't either so he will teach him how to clean it properly. Like @adaraa126 said there really isn't a reason other cosmetics. But most choose depending on if the dad is or not.

See, his dad isn't either. But I've gotten a lot of lip because we're leaning towards not doing it.. My husband has always been super clean, obviously otherwise I would've been grossed out lol @adaraa126 @mazeyy09

Yea it's really not that hard fan upkeep. An infection can happen whether your cut or not. But my mom was the same way I just ignored it. I didn't feel right having my baby go through that for no reason

I'm having it done to my son .... Just reduces chances of an infection ... Because if you don't have it done you have to pull the skin back and makes sure it's properly cleaned ... And other things but I don't think it's a big deal if mothers don't

I didn't because if he was supposed to be that way down there then that's how he would've been made. I just don't think it's necessary to mess with something like that.

i had my son done and will with this son also. just what i prefer its your choice but getting ot done doesnt stop infections my son got an infection as a baby. sometimes it just happens.

And I was also told they're very tender down there for a while and fussy like I feel that's unnecessary. But I've gotten so much crap about it because I'm considering not to. But telling me they're gonna be in pain doesn't make it any better

my son didnt really hurt and didnt get the infection to he was a about a year old.

Yea people gave me there opinions about it as well, but whatever you choose is YOUR decision because you're doing what you think is best for your child. Personally I don't see why people would want to change something like that. It's a natural thing. But good luck on whatever you do decide to do (:

I am not. My son will stay intact. You actually shouldn't pull it back or try to clean it. It is attached when they are little and it will naturally pull back when they are bigger - that is one of the main causes for infection. Someone ripped it before it was ready. I just say to watch a video of the procedure and decide for yourself.

my 1st son had it done and so will my second.

it does decreses infection when they are older men. we had to do go threw the nursing home during my emt class and its so sad how many old men had infections from being intact cause they couldnt properly care for themselves.

just because one nursing didnt have issues doesnt mean they all dont. you shouldnt be worried about anyone elses babies peens anyways. its her choice im just letting her know what ive seen! @clothdiapermomma

Circumcision is so painful for babies that they can pass out from the pain, their lungs can collapse from crying so hard, or they can vomit from such intense pain. People say their babies slept through it...no he passed out from severe pain. In my opinion it's pretty barbaric, and people say it's "personal choice"... it's HIS personal choice. He can get it done later on. I will never circumcise any son of mine.
