You should definitely try to get a travel system! One that comes with a stroller and a base OR you can spend a little more and get the all in one car seat where you never need to buy another one . I'm going to get the chicco nextfit I love it ! I was going to get it but the guy at babies r us told me that the hospital would only let me take her home in the infant one so we bought the chicco keyfit 30 travel system which has the infant car seat the base and a stroller that holds the car seat until she outgrows it and then it turns into a regular stroller so you don't need to buy another stroller which is nice. The nice thing about having an infant one is you can keep the baby in it and take it out of the cat and carry it around or put in the stroller and the other ones just stay in the car
And the part about the hospital not letting me take her in the other ones I never asked if it would be allowed or not so I think it depends on them but the weight limit starts at like 5 lbs so I think it should be ok

I bought an all in one BUT I didn't realize it didn't have the arm to carry it so I ended up buying an infant one as well
