At what month is it usually okay to start taking your baby out in public? I've read a couple different things and I know if you do take them out early, obviously don't let strangers touch them etc. She'll be around 2 months close to Christmas, and obviously I'd want to get a Santa picture. But that makes me nervous with germs and so many people...

I've been thinking the same things.. But I don't wanna be "that mom" who never brings her baby out and never lets ANYONE touch it🙄

it's really up to you... My baby came out around 2 weeks to my family's house & 4/5 weeks to public. he got introduced early. I felt he should see more than just his home, he needs to get used to different noises & voices. he's completely healthy. exposure to a little germs & sunshine can help build the immune system anyway. some germs are unavoidable once exposed their little body can learn to fight back. baby's are stronger than we think.

I went to the rodeo/fair with my kids 3 days later. And 36 hours after was at my sons swimming lessons.

we didn't do Santa pictures (because we couldn't find a Santa around) ive heard of parents doing newborns in their carseat pictures so Santa's not breathing all over them and holding them close. its your decision. i had my son in Sept 2013 and he went trick or treating (just dressed up) on Halloween a month later

@cubanese, very good points. I'm sure once she's here I won't be worried as much about when we do. Cause there will definitely be times where she'll have to come out anyways!
