asked for the 3hr glucose to see where my body is having trouble processing the sugar and my Dr office out right refused to give it to me. can they legally even do that?

okay they're supposed to give you the 3hr then. unless you failed it horribly then they sometimes skip it and diagnose you with GD

It's not of an insurance thing. Sometimes there is nothing they can do about it without preauthorization.

my sister had the same insurance I have and only a few below my numbers AND she went to the same Dr. now I'm sticking my fingers 4x a day. @kmechelles @michelle2220

@nightdaughter, but when did have the test done? Recently? Last year? Because insurance changes yearly & have the ridge to refuse the treatment. She may have had other things going on that prompted it.

That's terrible. At this point can you switch doctors? I read on another post all your readings are in the normal range now. Doctors suck sometimes

last year. @kmechelles they didn't say the reasoning was insurance related they just said there was no point

Right i got that the home ones were normal and you felt the one hour was a mistake. I can't understand why they won't retest. It's insane.

@nightdaughter, they don't have to explain why. I work in the medical field & we have to refuse a lot of things because of insurance. But like someone said, it's like your right to deny certain treatment, you don't have to give a reason. I know it's shitty. And I wish they would have at least given you a reason why.

@nightdaughter, that's probably why they're wanting you do to accu-cheks at home to see if it's really DM or not.
