My 5 year old daughter has to have some fillings done. She got one done yesterday and did fine with it. She obviously cried when they gave her the numbing shot but after a few seconds was fine and they finished it up. Today we went back to do another filling and she cried when the gave her the shot but when they started to drill she could feel it and so they tried to give her another shot but she wouldn't hold still and let them. They tried to refer me to a pediatric specialist but that place told me they don't accept new patients over 4. Now she has to go back Monday to the regular dentist and try again. Any tips? Should I give her some ibuprofen or Tylenol before hand to help with the pain? Help!! I don't know what to do.. 😔😔

They don't use the laughing gas at that office & the office they referred me to so she could get the laughing gas is not accepting new patients over the age of 4

Agree with the gas. When my daughter was 7, she tried to rip the shot out of the dentist hand! I was so embarrassed. They gave her the gas & everything went fine.

Ask for laughing gas. But at that age once they fill pain from that moment on they're going to be afraid of it. So I would try to soothe her as best as possible.
