hey girls I have a quick question for u. I have been told that if I turn on my back during my sleep it is dangerous for my baby even if I lay down on my back is dangerous!!!! 😯 but I asked my mum and she told me she never heard of going on ur back can harm the baby soo much.. so I am confused now as I always end up going on my back when I sleep and I can't help it 😬 as I can't control my self in my sleep. and another thing I always feel more comfortable to lay on my right side rather than left side is it okay or it have to be only left side as a lot of ppl been telling me.. some ppl just so confusing me and make me so panicing 😢😢😢 xx

In those days they didn't know about the back thing...loads of new things have been discovered hun....sleeping on your back puts pressure on a major blood vessel... it can cut blood/oxygen to the placenta...so thats why midwives always recommend sleeping on your left side as it increases the circulation to both you and baby xx

I laid on my stomach until 17 weeks then switched to my left and right side :) You dont have to stay strictly to your left side as it will cause you a lot of pain in your hips...I switched sides during the night (frequently) xx

Right I asked my midwife this exact question today as I woke up on my front this morning! No idea how I ended up on my front as I'm huge but I did..... Anyway she said it is perfectly fine to lay how ever you are comfortable! If you're comfortable on your back and it doesn't make you dizzy or short of breath then it is perfectly safe & fine to do so. Also if you can lay on your front and baby doesn't mind then that's fine too!!as is left and right. She said they suggest left, but it is more important that you get some sleep!! Hope this helps @myfirstbaby2016

She said it is only a problem is you have shortness of breath or dizziness x

I think it's only dangerous if you're laying flat on your back which I can't do anyway without feeling sick 🙈 try propping yourself up with pillows and switching positions more often. but I'm the same I find laying on my right side comfier. Now I have to keep switching sides because my hips have been hurting from staying on the same position too long. When I'm asleep I don't move at all which is weird 😂 x

It just can compress major vessels in your body but you would know about it as u would feel faint. Laying on back is not gonna do major harm as u have to lay flat when they examine u or u have an epidural or section

@myfirstbaby2016 I would've stayed on my front longer...but at that point it made me feel sick to do so xxx
