So I Moved in with my in-laws August 1st to save money for our own house we agreed that we were gonna do $250 for groceries a month for a family of 3 not including my 1 month baby and also I get wic which helps with milk eggs bread etc... they are a family of 5 and she gets food stamps pretty big amount.. i notice food is not lasting and my husband, son and I don't Harley eat we are realizing she's not buying anything no meat products food that we can make and eat all she buys is eggs bread milk cereal fruits vegetables and snacks basically what wic gives and she gets wic herself we already spent are $250 and all my wic checks the first 2 weeks of August and the food only lasted for days now I gotta buy more food and we move here to save money I wanna tell her were gonna start buying our own food separate.. i hope she doesn't get mad it's there family who are eating everything my kids and husband don't even drink milk who goes through 3 gallons of milk a week now I have to get more milk with my money I can't even buy junk food like chips in a hour it's gone my son even cried cause he didn't get a chance to get any

I am so sorry you have to deal with that I'm doing the same (living at my in-laws ) but it's only my bfs dad and roommate that lives here and they always take what's not theirs and get in business they shouldn't. I hate my roommate especially she threatened to call cps on me.

We agreed to share food but we didn't know they were gonna literally eat all the food we buy within days and my Mil not really buying food almost this whole week I been taking my son out to eat and feeding my husband eggs and were suppose to be saving money @belle6414

@lucyyxoxo_, that's exactly what I did ^^ I got a mini fridge and hide stuff in my room and buy mostly non refrigerated items to also hide up in my room (my room is huge😂)

I actually bought one today order it earlier in the morning little bigger than a mini fridge I have no clue how to tell them ... i feel like my husband should tell them there his parents.. his mom really never cooks and I'm going to feel uncomfortable when I make food and her kids look I don't want to offer them cause im only gonna be buying enough food for my family I feel like it's gonna be drama you know how kids are always asking for stuff I can't say no but then I don't have enough @lucyyxoxo_

you don't need to tell them. if worse comes to worst you can just pay them the 250 as rent and call it a day. bc paying it for food that you don't even get to eat makes you spend more anyways.. you can always put half in the house fridge and half in yours. I know if harder when kids are involved but you need to think about your own first. I would never be able to let my son not enjoy a snack just bc someone else took it.
