They can use a bag that attaches to the skin and when they pee, it goes to the bag and then you can pour it out to a sterilized urine cup.

I have those bags in my job and we give them to parents when they need urine from their babies

they did it to my daughter try to feed her like 10 mins before they do it

Oh ok they wouldn't put a catheter unless she's in the emergency room and can't walk to the bathroom or if they need to see if she has urine. Other than that they won't use catheters on babies

@mommy99630, oh okay I didn't know if they did randomly at her appts or what. I never knew they did that stuff. I figured it wouldn't be unless they think something's wrong with her bladder or really sick

My son was only 8 days old and I went to the ER with him. They thought he might have a serious infection so they tried the bag but it didn't catch anything. The catheter took less than a minute. He didn't even react. He's 10 months old now and we've never done a urine test at a regular dr.

@bonniesue, awe poor thing. It makes me cringe thinking about them using one lol but I'm hoping that she will not have too have one because I might lose it 😩 so glad your son is okay ❤️
