can't sleep have alot on my mind went to my doc yesterday and got news if I don't start taking iron…

Just something to ease your mind. I had to receive 2 pints of blood out the blue because I myself have anemia and my levels got so low it was dangerous for me and baby. After that I have been so good not cold no ice eating none of that and my iron levels are great now it won't stay that way but beats having to take the nasty pills that constipate you and hurts your stomach like crazy.

@mommyofcohenjayceandmatthew, I never have been anemic before...she told me yesterday and now I'm just scared of what will happen....she said of I start taking pills now I will be good by delivery but baby comes when baby comes....and I'm not suffering from cold just a lot of ice I want and I feel tired...I scared what if my levels are not up by the time I give birth I want to do it natural

You will need to be crossed matched and they will do a transfusion simple as that Dont be scared it's what's needed I was scared as well and I'm a nurse so go figure but it saved me and I'm not tired and the pills may not work fast enough. And you can still have a natural birth but you will really need a transfusion if you loose to much blood so it would be a great idea to get your blood volume up.

I take iron pills still even after my pregnancy because of my iron levels. I was told during my pregnancy if I didn't take them I would have a transfusion

@mommyofcohenjayceandmatthew, yeah I am a paramedic firefighter but hopefully the pills can kick in she say due to the baby that's why...as nasty as this sounds I love to eat blood sausage and liver with onions to help boost it up...I went anemic before but it was because I had a very heavy period for literally 10 months str8 it would go away for a couple days to a week and come right back.... @zachsbabygurl yeah that is what I was told

they iron pills kicked right in for me and helped right away I stopped wanting ice and stopped staying cold

u should take them ive had anemia my whole life. and i didnt take my iron right with my first and i had to have an emergency csection and i bled out. my hemoglobin ended up at 6. and on top of that ofcourse i was bleeding like hell. i fainted in the shower at the hospital and all. i didnt want a transfusion cuz i was scared and ended up on alot of iron. then it didnt work fast enough and month later got a transfusion. im anemic now and i knw i need to get right before baby comes if not it could be bad
