Am I being selfish for thinking about my own little family first than my mom & brothers? We only own our bed & a 5 drawer furniture in the living room. My young brother has a problem with peeing and pooping on himself which makes the whole dam living room stink up & I can't stand it! My other brother has my old room and doesn't wanna have the decency to give it back to me (doesn't pay rent & doesn't put in money for household essentials ever) my mom doesn't set her ground straight with her kids it's sad am always cleaning up after them because I can't stand living in dirt. My mom finally took me off her welfare case yesterday because I pushed her to do it since I barely even receive any of those. Am opening up my own case for myself and my baby I told my boyfriend once I start receiving benefits we're moving out (my dad is willing to pay off a 1 bd room apt) am I being selfish in not giving a shit if they wanna keep living the way they do and I leave? Seriously am so fed up I don't even wanna bring my baby to this home coming out of the hospital. 😐

Welfare doesn't care about iphones, tattoos or makeup. Idk if you were tryna be offensive about it but obviously it wasn't free. If I can get extra help why not & thank you @alexinwonderland

@alexinwonderland, What do any of things you mentioned have to do with her getting help? People who have iphones, tattoos, cars, jobs fall on hard times and get help all the time. I stopped working and applied for food stamps with my smartphone and 9 visible tattoos (one of which is on my hand) and drove my car to the office and you'll never guess what happened? I GOT THEM. Isn't the system in place for people who need help? That was so rude. BTW they never asked me once about how I paid for my tattoos, because if they had they would have found out I got them all before I had kids and could afford tattoos.

I'm so heated by her comment. And it's not even toward me. Everyone goes through struggles cause I sure have. Don't let anyone make you feel any less of yourself for needing help. You want the best for your baby and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

People like that just say shit like that to make themselves feel better. She's so wack for that. I seen people who abuse the system and in no way are you here trying to take advantage.

At this point you have to worry about the best interest of you & your baby. So no, I don't think you're being selfish..& that other lady that commented was rude. As a social worker, I know that when you go to apply for assistance they do not choose to grant assistance based on a phone, make up, or tattoos..It's about your income. She dk what she's talking about.

When I had my son at 19 I had WIC and foodstamps and trust me it'll come in handy when you need the extra formula. Do what you gotta do love.
