Question. My baby girl is 11 days old
My boyfriend works all day, so he's not home with us... Whenever the baby gets super fussy, it seems most of the time I'm the only one who can soothe her 100%. She's breastfed. So when she gets super upset, feeding her is the only thing that calms her, or she crys badly. I'm really starting to feel bad that she doesn't calm down for him like she does me.. Is it because she's breastfed, or just bonded to me more because I'm with her all day?? I'm pumping, so we are about to start her on bottles with breast milk too so he can feed her. Or is this just a newborn thing?
It just breaks my heart that the only time he can hold her peacefully is when she's asleep. :-/

It's probably a little of both. I'm a single mommy so my son is with me 24/7 and the only way to get him to calm down is nursing him as well, he's almost 6 months

I wouldn't introduce bottles for a while yet if you want the baby to keep breastfeeding. Don't want nipple confusion or preference. Babies just naturally soothe easier for mom. They imprint her sound and her smell.

Macie took a paci and breast fed. But then she went to day care and I gave her pumped milk in a bottle and she started to refuse the breast. Breastfeeding is more work, they have to make the milk drop first and if they get a taste of how easy a bottle is, they tend to get lazy and not want to work on the breast. But if you only do it rarely I suppose it'd be okay.

@babymaciesmomma, true. It makes sense.... I'm gonna have to try... My boyfriend wasn't really for breastfeeding in the beginning, but after he seen how serious I was, he agreed. His big thing was, he wanted to feed his daughter too. Which I understand. :-/
We plan to wait a little longer before doing the bottle. But I'm just gonna hope and pray she still nurses. She'll only get a bottle two a night. During the whole day it'll just be us. So I'll be only breast feeding. Thank you for the Info Hun ❤️

Yep. Another thing I'd suggest is, don't ever give her a bottle. That way she associates you with the breast and dad or whoever else with the bottle. If you cave and give her a bottle and if that's what she prefers, she'll hold out for a bottle.
