My baby hasn't been wanting to gain weight 😓 he eats constantly but isn't gaining hardly anything. He wasn't even back to his birth weight on Saturday when he was last checked (he's two weeks today) he doesn't get fussy like he's starving and I know he's getting milk because I saw a LC. They keep asking about formula which I do not want to do and it's frustrating that it feels like they're trying to push me into it when the LC said I was doing great with breastfeeding. He's super active just constantly kicking punching trying to lift his head and roll over so I wonder if he's just burning off his food too fast. Has anyone else had a situation like this? What was the outcome?

Try changing your eating habits. Some babies don't get enough nutrients from breast milk.

Are you nursing him every two hours? And some babies gain slow my lo does he's 8 mo and only 17lbs

@haybearsmomma, usually though most of the time it's about every hour. A few times I've had to wake him at the three hour mark but it's usually every hour right now.

Oh ok I just wanted make sure you wasn't going long periods and making sure you were wake him. You can try eating high good fats to help fatten up the milk some although it's not really possible to make your milk more fattier lol.

Eat well... Take your prenatals. I had the same issue and I started pumping and combining breastfeeding and expressed milk in a bottle. Some people are scared about nipple confusion but it worked for me. My boy is 7 weeks, 13.5 pounds. He was 8.8 at birth, went down to 7.6 after birth and is gaining 1.5-2 ounces per day. Sometimes babies are too sleepy to latch and eat.
