I was not successful. My nipples started to bleed and peel. My nipple literally stuck to my bra and breast pad. I had to rip them off of my nipple. It hurt so bad. My daughter hated it and would just cry. I really wish I was successful I literally cried the first time I gave my daughter a bottle. I would recommend to buy a breast pump a really good breast pump and to buy nipple cream. If it gets hard don't give up like I did fight through the pain because it will ne worth it in the end.

@sabby, yay so glad it's working out for you. What did you do before your milk came in were you producing colostrum at the time?

I attempted it with all 3 kiddos. My first lasted 3 months, my 2nd a month. This go around in at 3 weeks with no issues so far. My first 2 I had medical things go wrong that resulted in my milk ending.

I am really struggling with breastfeeding. I had my baby four weeks early so he couldn't latch or suck. I had to use a nipple guard and he rarely ever wanted to eat. even now he rarely ever wants to eat. he struggles to gain weight. he never gets everything he needs while he is nursing from me so I have to pump and give him a bottle after every feed. I'm on week four and still really struggling but I keep going

I almost gave up twice, but I'm still going strong! nobody warned me about all of the things that go wrong with breastfeeding, so it's been quite a struggle

Hopefully!! My so. Had a tongue tie so it was very painful at first but we got that handled. I think the best advice I have is don't be too hard on yourself. A fed baby is a happy baby. Formula or breast milk. Nursing is not for everyone and that's okay but knowing you tried is better than not having tried at all.

I'm taking in all the advice, too. I plan to breastfeed. My friend breastfed her daughter for 6 months. At first, it was really hard because her milk wouldn't come. Her mom's a nurse so she was drinking those teas to stimulate breast production. She pumped a lot to try to influence it that way. She also squeezed her breasts to try to get the flow. Her daughter latched on really easily, but the milk was hard to come. She had preeclampsia and some other issues. She got into a really bad car accident which is why she stopped at 6 months. She was on a lot of meds and narcotics with pins and a rod in her leg from her hip to ankle. After the milk came, it was really easy. She kept pumping a lot and stored the milk.
