@sharonpaige13, I read over my information packet like 3 times and it didn't say anything about when it starts working. :/ so weird right?! Well today is the 3rd day do you think I'll be good to go??

I was told not to have sex for 24 hours and I was good to go...also it said in the little informational packet I was given that it works instantly never heard that it takes 3 weeks for it to work? Like at all lol I just waited a few days so I didn't get an infection

My doctor didn't make me wait she just said use a Condom for a few days just so it can heal and not get infected

lol you're welcome! It would really sick to have gone through the process of getting the IUD and then end up getting pregnant! Plus, if you get pregnant while on the IUD it can be life threatening so be careful! xo

yes but a condom is VERY necessary for 3 weeks after insertion as the IUD isn't effective until then.
