My 6 year old son has acne and has bad body odor. I have to make him wear deodorant. And the skin under his arms is dark. No hair there. Whats causing this? Have any other moms had this problem? I'm so confused. He's my oldest and I've never dealt with this before. I kept thinking stuff like this didn't happen till they hit puberty at around 12 years old.

My niece has the same problem, but my sister did too at that age.. My sister actually matured faster than most girls and by 3rd grade she already was wearing bras and deodorant faithfully... It could be nothing, but you should double check with his pediatrician

Skin darkening can be nothing, but also signs of other things, like diabetes. He may have a hormonal imbalance. I 'd talk to his doc.

My son also wears deodorant, he's about to be 8 next wk but has been wearing it since last yr, he smells like a grown man!

Thanks ladies. I will call his doctor and see what she says. I try not to worry about it but he gets embarrassed if he smells. And wasn't happy when his face started breaking out.

My daughter is 9 now but has been wearing deodorant since she was about 7 & now shes wearing traini g bras. I honestly think these kids are aging way before there time & I'm afraid she might get her period next & she is not ready for that neither em I.
