So I'm a little worried at the moment... (Sorry for long post)
I had my consultant appointment this morning and I was supposed to be offered an induction if baby is still too big. Anyway, it was a different consultant to last time and he did a scan and baby's estimated weight is 9.7lbs at 37+6! At first he thought my dates were wrong but they aren't. He said there's no point in inducing me today because I've got plenty of time to go naturally and I could even go over by 10 days before being offered induction again. Well I don't see him for another 2 weeks and baby is showing no signs of slowing down growth wise.
I was wondering can you ask to be induced or do I get no say whatsoever? I have this horrible feeling that I can't do this naturally and I know if I go over I'll have to have a c-section because it's happened to everyone else in my family, something to do with a narrow pelvis. I'm really worried that something bad is going to happen and I feel like I should trust my instinct. Should I maybe get a 2nd opinion?

that seems big and baby only going to get bigger!! I'd personally ask for a 2nd opinion xx

@raych, do you know who I could go to for a second opinion? Would a midwife be okay or should I book another appointment with a different consultant? I just have this feeling it's really hard to explain but I know I'm right 😩

mum's intuition hun!! I'd ring midwife and if no joy with her your gp. explain everything and they can override the consultants decision!!
I just think your going to be put through a lot of unnecessary stress when they can I duce due to baby's size!! xx

I'd defo get a second opinion.. Your body knows what it can and can't handle! Besides your first consultant said u would need early induction!

@raych, @mummytomollie just booked in to see my midwife tomorrow for a second opinion. Hopefully it gets somewhere and I'm not fobbed off again 🙄 xx

@raych, I know, I said about family history but it wasn't a concern apparently so here's hoping they'll listen to instinct. I'll know more tomorrow anyway. Thanks for your help! x
