Unfortunately you don't always know. I had a slow leak that I thought was just discharge or sweat but was amniotic fluid. If you're worried about it you should get it checked out, it's better safe than sorry!

They broke mine and I didn't feel it break. I felt a warm gush of liquid. really warm.

I've been leaking like a watery discharge for a couple weeks now. She tested it and it wasn't amniotic fluid. Could be normal.

@mamayoung, they keep bouncing my due date around but she's my second baby and she dropped. Dr said once she drops I should have her shortly after and its been 2 days since its happened. and I haven't been having this before now. if it happens again within the next hour I'm gunna call the hospital. better safe then sorry.

Put a tampon in and cough and do some squats. Then take it out. If it's wet, it's your water.

@lexij, don't leave it in long. My last pregnancy someone suggested it to me because I was unsure. I left it in for maybe 5 min. It was my water. It made me feel better about going to L&D. Because they had sent me home before. Just a suggestion, don't do it if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
