Anyone have a high cervix? Can you tell me your experience with it? Are there ways to lower it?

I could be wrong but I think it lowers as the baby prepares to be born/during labor? I remember them checking me for dilation and saying the cervix is still high.

My cervix was still pretty high up when I was induced.. I was only 1cm and 50% effaced.... My body wasn't dilating, and it took getting the foley balloon, and the nurse being really rough in my cervix for me to even dilate past 1cm. Pitocin was was made mine lower and contract where I needed to be. They also put the peanut yoga ball between my legs and had me lay on my sides. Went in Wednesday night, and didn't have her until Friday afternoon.

It lowers on its own as the baby moves farther down and prepares for labor.

@klove2016 agh I'm so worried about that, I'm about 3 cm dilated and 40% effaced but extremely high cervix I'm worried it's going to give me issues. @kbrown91 @carparker00

My cervix was really high when I was induced and I had to use the peanut ball and keep switching sides. but you still have time for it to change. I was induced bc of an emergency so that's why mine was still high @mamabear9456

My cervix was high up and when I got induced they literally grabbed it and pulled it down with their fingers. So painful 😭 then I had to use the peanut shaped ball in between my legs to help me dilate and baby move down more

Foley balloon is a balloon type thing they put through your cervix, and fill with saline and it puts pressure on your cervix to manually open it. It either falls out, or if they can pull it out, you'll be like 4-5cm dilated then. And the peanut ball is just like a yoga ball, but they have them for you to rock back and fourth on, or they use them to open your pelvis up.

@mamabear9456, it really wasn't that bad. It just felt weird when I got up to go pee and had the weird tube hanging out of me 😂 it just all depends on your pain level. It didn't really hurt getting put in, was a little more painful being pulled out.. But the worst was when I was on pitocin, and my water broke, and I didn't have a epidural yet... My water broke, and seriously, I got the most agonizing, painful contraction like 2-3 minutes later, and I was in tears screaming. I couldn't handle it. It took like 15 minutes for the anesthesiologist to get there to give me the epidural. It was like 3am so they weren't on site. But on call.. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life.. I had contractions every minute and they lasted about 30 seconds to a minute each. It was awful. @mamabear9456
