what is the difference between a christening and a naming ceremony?? anyone Daughter due in 5 weeks and thinking is getting her christened

thank you @stephyb95 I think I'm just going to have a naming ceremony as not religious only want it so baby can have god parents x

@vickir29, you don't have a naming ceremony in a church, my niece for example had hers just at home with family and friends and a bbq...if you want it in a church you'd have to get your baby christened. I'm not sure how it works with other churches but Catholic Church you have to attend for a couple of months before you can get your child baptised (same thing as christening) if you just wanted a naming ceremony you could have it in a local Hall or at home like a little party or something xx
