When you ask your doctor if, in his professional opinion, a natural pain med free birth while you have gestational diabetes is still within the realm of possibility...And all he really says is "Well no ones gonna give you a medal for having a natural birth." Uhm thats not what I asked. I asked if there was gonna be any reason i HAD to receive pain meds or if i could still go naturally. Im not looking for a medal and i know there wont be one. I wanted to try all natural birth because #1 pain meds tend to make me very nauseas and i dont want to spend labor glued to the toilet. #2 I dont want to be confined to my bed if i dont have to be, so an epidural isnt the best option for me. #3 Pain is part of the process, I want to experience labor and delivery in its most natural state. Theyre talking about inducing me at 27 to 28 weeks so im already robbed of the most natural labor process (due to the pitocin and other drugs) so my original plan is altered. He shouldnt be trying to discourage me from Not wanting pain meds..
