Pumped milk doesn't indicate how much your baby is eating and how much milk you produce.

He has been crying nonstop for the past 5 days and today after he was acting hungry and crying on the boob, I offered him formula and he took it all and fell asleep. I only was able to pump 1oz from one side and 1.5 from the other. he was a big baby so I was told I might have to supplement but I really dont want to.

Yeah, pumping doesn't stimulate your breasts like a baby eating does, so you'll get different amounts. I would talk to your pediatrician. Make sure he's gaining enough weight with just breastmilk. It's possible he's getting plenty to eat and is upset about something else, so I'd contact his doctor.

@tiffany_sanft, he has an appt on the 29th. I tried to call yesterday and get in but his dr is out of town. It jist seems like its the food because he has been fine since.

Have you tried gripe water? Maybe he's gassy?

@bishop0301, yeah girl, I tried that. :( I am positive he isnt getting enough milk. I will nurse from both sides and he just gets so frustrated and still is fussy after. each time I have offered him a bottle after nursing, he takes some then is happy and sleeps and has a better day.
