Ok I need some advice from the mom's that is familiar with the Army or has a loved one in the service right now well its kind of a question. So my boyfriend is thinking about joining the National Guard when he gets done with school so once they ship him to boot camp will they let him come home after boot camp or will they ship him immediately where he needs to go? And my other question is if I do go in labor while he's either in boot camp or when they actually ship him somewhere will they let him come to the hospital immediately or do we have to be married for them to do that? Sorry if this question may sound dumb it's just I've never been through this before.

hi, I'm also in the army but im active duty. right after basic we go straight to ait. there is a family day and graduation ceremony family and friends can go to after basic and straight from there we are sent to our AIT location. when u go into labor I suggest sending what is called a red Cross message. the red cross will contact your husbands battalion and let them know you are in labor. it's not a guarantee thing that he will be released to leave however. my suggestion is have him wait until after u have the baby if u are worried about him being there:) good luck and if u have any questions just message me

He's going to go active duty as well. What's AIT lol? And ok I'll talk to him about sending a Red Cross message but will they do the same if he's not my husband and he's my boyfriend? And yeah I've tried talking him into waiting till the baby is born but this is something he really wants to do I want him to go when the baby is born so that way he and the baby can see each other if something happens not thinking negative but anything can happen. But if he does miss it I could just have someone record for him so he can see the baby. And alright thank you:) @mmam91
