I was told after bottle so I would give my baby her normal formula amount then about 30 minutes to an hour I gave her a little food. all babys nutrition comes from bottles and food before 1 is just for fun and getting them used to flavors and texture...eventually around 9 to 10 months she wouldn't drink as much formula because she wanted food lol.

I decided to give baby food around 1st lunch so she had 2 bottles that morning then some solids then I gave 4 oz of breastmilk/formula and if she ate it cool if not we just move on. :)

My daughter's doctor told us to give it to her once or twice a day whenever we wanted, and to not reduce her formula intake since she's 4 months. Your LO should be drinking the same amount of formula in one sitting. Food is just to get him used to texture and flavors.
