Ughh the struggle..... so ever since I left the hospital we got my son use to the co sleeper, but now he has the idea that if he cries someone is going to pick him up from in there.Me nor my fiance pick him up when he cries unless its for a reason. Now he cries all the time, because he knows my mom will pick him up and then when I bring him in to my room asleep and I try to put him in he starts crying this kid is now spoiled. So I have to get him use to putting him in the co sleeper. On top of that he wants to be constantly held because that's all everyone else does when they're home.

How old is he? You typically can't spoil a newborn, also if he's only a month or a few weeks they don't know to be manipulative like that.

@lady-k, I guess I'm expecting too much because I've worked with infants for years. I just don't want him to think that its ok to do that later on when he does get older and my son cries right when we put him on the co sleeper and he always wants to be held even if I leave the room for one second just to gp to the restroom he cries.

@vannahjam14, yes they do -_- lol but he gets so mad because I let him cry like right now I have him and he is making sure I'm not leaving the room lmao

I understand, I too have worked with infants for years as well. But they really don't know any better at a young age. I'm a FTM as well and my baby girl does the same thing. She's almost 2months. Your baby is probably crying not because he knows he will get picked up but because he is so use to being inside of you that all he knows is you. He's still trying to get use to this crazy world we live in. I know it's exhausting but one day they won't even want to be around us lol! Also every baby is different. You want your baby to know that he can always rely on you to meet his needs. Best of luck. You're doing a great job! So don't think other wise Hun 😊

@lady-k, it just drives me crazy at night because I want him to get back to sleeping in his co sleeper without him crying or waking up or seeking him in it. Plus were transitioning to his crib in a month so I want him to get back to his routine.

I know and sleep is very important. Maybe try just before putting him to sleep, give him a nice warm bath and a warm bottle. Then rock him to sleep but lay him down right before he falls asleep so that he won't wake up when you put him down. It should work. If not then you can try putting him down after he's in a deep sleep. But most recommend when he's in the drowsy state right before falling asleep.

is he swaddled? sometimes that really helps. maybe try putting one of your t shirts under him so when he's laying there he can still get your smell :) I had to do that a few times with my daughter when she was a newborn. I also rolled up two receiving blankets and put them on her sides (while swaddled) only from her shoulders down and it kinda made her feel like she was being held. good luck mama! ino how frustrating it is at night :(

@lady-k, I'll see how that works. He just surprises me how aware he is of everything and everyone.

@mdomke22, Hey great idea I'll try that as well :) I do swaddle him, but my fiance doesn't when I swaddle him its a bit easier to put him to sleep .
