people keep asking is when/if we're going to get married now because we're having a baby, we've been together two years and aren't in a rush to walk down the isle. They think that we HAVE to be married because "it's the right thing to do". We will get married when the time comes.
Why would we go blow money on a wedding when we need to focus on using it for this baby??? When the time comes we will have a wedding that we can afford to have how we want it.
The fact that people still think a baby should only belong to a married couple pisses me off.

Most of my family will tell me that a baby is not a reason to get married but I have this one cousin who wants us to go to the courthouse and get married to be a good influence on my younger cousins lol...... We've been together 3 years we act like a married couple and live like a married couple. The only thing is it's not recognized by the government.... Anyway marriage is just a piece of paper, doesn't change feelings. Although I wanna get married hah

@shellbell0391, Right, well we act like a married couple too and live together. I'd just rather have the big ceremony that I'll remember forever, I wouldn't mind having my daughter be the flower girl when the time comes. But I don't think that baby should automatically mean marriage. There are women still getting shamed for being single mothers and I think it's honestly all up to you and you shouldn't be rushed because of how other people feel about the subject. I personally wouldn't want a court house marriage because it takes away from the celebration

Yeah my friends and family always ask when we're getting married, going on 11 yrs and 2 kids now lol I said well, doesn't look like either one of us are going anywhere so no rush lol I guess maybe one day we will
