I'm being induced tomorrow but I go in tonight to get...Cervidyl? inserted. The doctor told me its like a tampon. It's supposed to soften my cervix and I have to leave it in for 12 hours, come back tomorrow morning and they start the IV stuff.
Anyone have this experience? Was it good or bad? I'm freaking out. I'm so nervous :(
it's a lot safer to be kept to make sure the baby isn't under any stress. good luck
@michelle2220, @britt16, you're right. They kept me. My doctor told me they'd send me home and to come back the next morning. Wtf. Oh well.
I had it done 3 weeks ago. I went in on Wednesday night and had it inserted. (it fell out after about 4 hours) my water broke on its own at 1:30 am. they started pitocin at 8:30 on thursday and I had my daughter at 12
I had that but they wouldn't let me go home. I had to stay in the hospital. I wasn't dilated at all when they have it to me so I went through three of them before i made any progress at all and then they took a pill and inserted it they last four hours and I had two of those before they were able to break my water.
that's weird that they'd send you home with that. I was kept in the hospital bc you're supposed to be monitored during it. I had to have it done twice bc the first time it didn't do anything but it's very uncomfortable
I'm so scared/nervous. Ugh.
