I gave my son water also. in my culture your supposed too. Nothing will happen as long as the baby isn't drinking it as his or her main source of food. Plus it helps their digestive system move along.
@maxie, Yup lol baby will be fine. Some moms just over worry. Especially the all natural do it by the books breastfeeding moms lol no offense they do it their way other mommies do it another way. We all have our parenting styles and I highly doubt any mom would put their child in danger.

babies under 6 months aren't supposed to have very much water if any at all actually! they can get water intoxication
