Aw!! I hope it gets better sooner rather than later. & Yes it is normal. Every doctor I talked to would tell me how common it is so I didn't stress to much about it. Plus it sounds like you're doing the right thing by keeping it clean

@brookesmommmy, every time he wakes up its yellow pus and sometimes it's stuck shut but I do wipe it with warm rag as often as possible. Is it normal for it to only be one eye? This is my third child and never experienced this with my last two.

So to answer your question i would just talk to your doctor about it & keep doing what you're doing! I use to get so frustrated with it.. She would wake up with her eye completely closed with crust. ☹️☹️☹️☹️

They gave me an antibiotic cream.. But it never worked. I ended up taking her to an eye specialist and he told me if it didn't clear up by 10 months they would go in and unblock it. It's super common for it to clear up on its own. (Like in my daughters case!)

My daughters went away on its own after a wk or so, I just kept wiping with a warm washcloth

I've been doing the breastfeeding thing also and it doesn't seem to be helping much

I actually just dealt with this my daughter actually had to get antibiotics and such but I would continue the rags if it's not clearing up get into the doctor

I put a little bit of breast milk on it and it cleared up quickly 😊 @mccdougall9
