Is it selfish that I don't want anyone besides my fiancé at the hospital until after the baby is born. I asked my fiancé not to tell people because I didn't want them trying to come into the delivery room or pulling him away to ask my status every few minutes. He has a large family. However, on the other side he's super excited to be a dad and wants that tv moment where we walks out and tells his family the baby is here.

Nope. I'm doing the same thing. Nobody, not even her 4 big sisters, get to come to the hospital to see her. Everyone is waiting until we get home.

I'm doing the same thing. I already know that I won't get my time with the baby if i let anyone other than my fiance in the delivery room.

I mean I don't mind people stopping by the hospital after he's born but I really didn't want them there while I'm in labor. Even after I'm going to be so tired I don't want a crowd just a couple people at a time. @babes101116

I totally understand! I'll say when I had my daughter they only allowed two people in the room at a time and no matter how many people where in the waiting room - it never phased me. When I was truly laboring and in pain everyone was very understanding so kept their distance. I would say most people understand and would be respectful. Once I had her people visited for maybe an hour and they all left because they knew we needed to rest. But it is you and your husbands day and it's what you guys want!! So whatever makes you happy, I'm sure would be fine with everyone else!

I'll have to ask if they can just send in a couple people at a time to keep it from getting too overwhelming. The labor suites at the hospital I'm going to are large but the mothers rooms are small which is another reason I don't want a whole lot of people around@usafwife

@angelfish, mine was too! Delivery room was huge but mothers room was TINY! I think it depends on the people, most of mine were parents so they understood. You have to do what makes you guys happy! I am very close to my family and his. So having people there for me is important and exciting. But when I'm in pain - I do expect my husband to be the one with me and handle if I need us to be alone - so we just make sure WE are on the same page so the only thing I'm worrying about is getting the baby out! Lol!
