Most pregnant women agree that the end of the third trimester is the worst!😕
You’re hot, heavy and just over it because making a human is hard work. We asked moms in the mom.life community what helped them survive the last few pregnancy weeks. Here are 14 tips that will help you make it to the finish line! 👶🏻
➡️ Trying to get your labor started naturally really doesn’t work
“I see a lot of posts about "how can I help get my labor started." Short answer, if your baby isn't ready you just can't. Have sex, bounce on a birthing ball, walk around... You can still do all that but unless your baby is good and ready it won’t send you into labor unfortunately.”
“Don't rush being induced, because it will be miserable if baby and your body aren't ready for birth. Baby will come where he/she and your body is ready.”
➡️ Walking helps
“It sounds nutty but staying active helped me. I had my baby at 42.5 weeks, so very very late, so I was super uncomfortable but walking surprisingly helped me a lot. Stay VERY hydrated. Lots of water, it makes a huge difference.”
➡️ Prenatal massage
“Having my boyfriend massage my back every night with a tennis ball really helped!”
“Massages !! My SO was amazing at making sure I was relaxed and comfortable every night. he would rub all the knots and kinks out of my back every day and run warm baths for me. lots of water to drink and learning breathing techniques to help labor. pillow between the knees when sleeping was also a life saver!”
➡️ Keep cool!
“Ice water, apple juice, AC set at 60°”
➡️ Celebrate your late pregnancy stage
"I've just entered third trimester this week, and as much as it has its challenges I'm really loving it! I love pregnancy over all. Such an incredible and creative event. I think it's all about attitude and what you focus more on. Focusing on what's hard is exhausting. Celebrate the miracles 😉”
“Take it as a blessing that you are in your 3rd trimester. Some women didn't make it to their second trimester or first.”
➡️ Sleep
“Get as much sleep as possible! I know it's hard and seems miserable but enjoy every moment because even though you're happy your baby is finally in your arms I miss feeling the movements inside.”
“For FTMs: Try to get as much sleep as you can. I know it can get uncomfortable, but find a way and just SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP. You will never have the same sleep ever again, you will be up every 2 hours 24/7.”
➡️ Try to achieve one thing a day
“I actually have decent days in my 3rd trimester, it's been a rollarcoaster, but i think the heartburn and indigestion is the worst and I drink gaviscon by the bottle like its a soft drink. Lots of healthy eating, walks, keep as positive as possible try to achieve at least one little thing a day to make you feel better. Rest a little don't feel bad about it. Don't pressure yourself to do too much, just let it go.”
➡️ Find support
“Get support to help you if need be. Drink plenty, and pray keep the faith X”
➡️ Exercise ball
“Pillows, pillows, pillows, and a yoga ball...!”
“Tylenol pm, hot showers, and my yoga ball helped me thru the discomforts and sleepless nights. Not looking forward to what's going to come after these next 6 weeks.”
➡️ Remember to be nice
“Don't complain too much, because the people you hurt with your outbursts might be the same people you need when you're desperate for a shower, a 5-minute break, or just someone to talk to.”
➡️ Balance
“Find that perfect balance between staying active and taking it easy on yourself. Both are very important!”
➡️ Spend time with your partner
“Sleep a lot and go out as much as you can with your SO!”
➡️ Baths
“Lots of relaxing baths relieves stress, lots and lots and lots of water.”
➡️ Pregnancy pillow
“Stay hydrated and sleep as much as you can because you will be up every 2-3 hrs, and invest in a pregnancy pillow.”

1st was worst, 2nd was half good (still had morning sickness for part of it) but fun to feel more and more movement, 3rd has been great! The baby feels like a real baby now! And my belly is round and full so there are none of those "is she/isn't she?" stares. Heartburn is TERRIBLE but it was bad in the 1st trimester too so nothing new. I'm loving the 3rd trimester and I hope the last 4 weeks stay this great!
