How much does it cost to encapsulate the placenta? Does that have anything to do with cord blood? Like can you bank cord blood and still encapsulate your placenta??? And can u bank cord blood if you delay clamping!????? Lol

Sorry if any of those are dumb, FTM!

The cost to encapsulate depends on your area. Generally speaking you can expect to pay between $100-$400.
With delayed clamping there is usually no blood left to bank. You may or may not be able to encapsulate if you want to bank cord blood depending on how long it takes them to collect the blood. The placenta needs to be stored properly during that time if the blood is not immediately being collected. @shellbell0391 you had great questions, no worries.

Thanks! I guess I have some research to do on what would be most beneficial since I can't do it all lol

Lol.....well i look at it this way. People donate cord blood all the time. As long as you can find a blood match, you can get cord blood from a donor in a life threatening situation. The likelihood that you would end up needing the cord blood is very slim. What i do know is that the encapsulation and delayed clamping has immediate and long lasting benefits for you and baby. That's my personal view @shellbell0391
