this age this bothers me alot. some children are ready at 5 and some are not. My son turned 5 days before kindergarten and has to repeat kindergarten this year because he was not emotionally and socially ready as children in his class were turning 6 the whole school year; he was still the baby at 5.
exactly! like they've had a whole year more of progress! of course there's a chance they'll be more advanced and then for somebody who's 5 it could be a little discouraging for them. @tiffrae now I do think kids should start at 5 but not with 6year olds. they should be learning and growing all together

Yeah it sucks my daughter us about to be 4 and they won't let her into pre k cuz her birthday is Sept 3. we live in florida

so this year my son turns 6 just days before school starts and will be in kindergarten again and he will do alot better.
