I got a promise ring at 2 months and then he proposed at 6 months and married at one year. Super fast for some of course but I think it depends on the relationship. Some find it better to wait some time and others find it better to go right for it.

Definitely but I think if he truly didn't want to commit he wouldn't spend this much time on you. I think maybe at this point he thinks you've been together this long so maybe it's a pointless ceremony when you guys are already so committed to one another.
