When I had our son (who is 2 now) my SO wanted the same thing and I had the Same problem. now we have our daughter (who is 6 months) she sleeps in her Co sleeper just fine and dosn't wake up. my son wouldn't sleep anywhere unless I was there but my daughter does. I think what ever is comfortable for the baby is what you should do. if you know baby won't sleep with out you then I'd say that's what you need to do also if you want to get intimate try putting baby asleep first then moving baby during and when ever baby wakes up then bring over to you.
