Hello all! I'm new here and also a first time mom but wanted some advice on getting my baby to sleep through the night? She's almost 2months and my husband and I swaddle her and lay her on her back so she can sleep but she will still jerk and wake herself up 30 minutes to an hour after being down. Once she's awake she will cry until she is picked up. With or without the swaddle, she jerks herself awake. Any advice is appreciated.
-Signed, EXHAUSTED mama! Lol.
I don't want to crush your dreams (or not dreams because there's no sleep involved!) but my son was a horrible sleeper. He didn't sleep through the night until he was 14 months old. Even though we tried EVERYTHING! Even paid $500 for a sleep consultant who was no help whatsoever. Good luck mama. Sleepy vibes headed your way!
I'm not too sure, she's been doing this since she was born. It's the jerking that startles her awake. The pediatrician said she will grow out of that but in the time being I need some advice on getting her to stay asleep even though she jerks. We do the warm baths, they work. But the issue isn't getting her to sleep, it's getting her to stay asleep. She keeps scaring herself awake.
I know it's not recommended, but I put my baby to sleep on her belly. It was the only way to stop her from jerking. She still jerks if she's on her back and she's 5 months.
