I need help. I'm about to die of exhaustion. And this is not an exaggeration ... I can literally feel my body shutting down.
My daughter has taken to not sleeping. At all. Only when we are holding her on the couch. She won't even sleep in our bed with us. She gets excited and just plays around.
She sobs and sobs when we place her in her crib. She's 1 year old. I don't understand it.
Yesterday she was passed out in my arms and when I went to lay her down, she panicked and grabbed my face so hard she drew blood.
What can I do? I've tried everything. She can't be living on 4-6 hours of sleep (on us) and we can't live on 4-6 hours of light sleep on a freaking couch.
No more kids. Ever.

this probably won't help the situation, buy I find it interesting, when I had my first I had read don't make eye contact with them when you are trying to get them to sleep cuz it keeps them from feeling asleep

Have you talked to her dr yet? Maybe call the advice nurse?

You just have to get some headphones and ignore, do you live with others? If not then you need to make sure when you put her down she's full and clean diaper then just lay her and shut the door she will go to sleep alone it will take about a week and you have to fight your urge to pick her up just so she shuts up. I have a 15month old and even now she will scream for 5-15mins when she's put down for naps and sleeps and sometimes she won't go to sleep but she will be quiet in her crib and eventually fall asleep. She's just spoiled to being held for sleep you have to break the habit. I doubt she has any sleeping disorder you can even put a piece of your clothing with your scent in the bed with her

I'm sorry you're going through this, it breaks my heart because I know the feeling. Dean was like that around 6 months. I slept on the couch with him every night with him on my chest. He still to this day doesn't sleep in his crib, and won't sleep at night unless I'm next to him. I want to say it sounds like a developmental milestone, along with separation anxiety. The one year mark is when they have the worst separation anxiety. give it a week or two and reassure her that you're not going anywhere, I'm sure she just needs lots of cuddles and affirmation.❤
