You're welcome! 😊 sometimes we have two techs one is taking blood and the other is helping you hold the child. Now that I'm on maternity leave I literally have my co workers call me and have parents beg me to come in while I'm off just to take their kid's blood lol it's so funny. But yeah bring a orange juice with you also so help with the blood loss even if they take a small amount, kids don't have that much blood to begin with.

@mommy99630, okay, I do my best to hold him. He is insanely strong. But i have gotten better. Yesterday he wasn't able to move at all.

I do blood work on kids as young as 2 days old, I work for LabCorp here in Florida. What I suggest is that you don't freak out and please help us technicians by remaining calm and holding the child on a tight grip. Whenever I take blood from them they don't cry at all and it's because I talk to them and make them laugh. It goes a long way. If you feel uncomfortable with the technician who's about to take the blood, don't let them do it. The minute you show some discomfort, that makes us nervous and uneasy and we will most likely mess up.

@babygluttony he tries so hard not to cry. Like he will hold his breath and then bust out crying. He got shots yesterday and it was very upsetting. I hate it. But I know it's for his health

I have seen my daughter get poked for blood and shots since she was born. you just have to stay calm, I know it will be tough because you're seeing your baby getting poked but it will be okay. I have to take katrina next week as well for her one year blood drawn so I can't fully help on that part but just stay calm and maybe sing to your baby when it's happening.
