When you get induced , what is the process or how long does it normally take ?

@so644, it can take 2-3 days. I was induced & they start off by putting a pessary in to soften the cervix (if it's still high) and leave you 6 hours, then if you need another one they do a 2nd. I think they will do 3 in total over a 24 hour period. I only needed one and then put on a hormone drip which is a bitch as it makes contractions a lot more painful and strong. But once the drip was in, I went from 4cm to 10cm in an hour Xx

the girl in the bed next to me was there 3 days... they ended up breaking her waters and putting her on a drip to bring on contractions ... then they moved her so no idea how long it took from there but she went from 1-4cm in 3 hours xx

I have no idea as I've never experienced it ... but what I have experienced after spending the last week in hospital on the ward where they do this is..... it can take a few attempts and a few days ( before I thought if you were induced baby came instantly 🙈) xxx
