I have no issue with how people feed their babies.
I have no issue with how people feed their babies.
I do however get annoyed when moms blame their baby on why they gave up breastfeeding.
Example: 1 of my friends "tried" to breastfeed her baby for all of 2 minutes, then said oh she's not latching. 😒
Another one of my friends said that she gave her baby formula because she sleeps better with it...the baby isn't even a week old. I know formula is thicker, and which may help the baby sleep longer, but she's a freaking infant. She's gunna wake up regardless of what you feed her.
I'd rather women say "I don't want to breastfeed" than trying to blame the baby for giving up.
Again THIS IS NOT A JUDGMENTAL POST. Just dislike when moms blame baby for not breastfeeding when they only tried once or twice. Just say you don't wanna do it, and keep it pushing.
I love my friends, they just annoy me sometimes. That is all. Lol

My daughter wouldn't latch, or she would but only for a second, but it's not her fault. I have flat nipples so it was really difficult for her to latch, and I wasn't producing but a few drops at a time so we had to start her on formula before my milk even came in bc she was starving.

But you recognize the fact that it's not her fault! I had to use nipple shields because my nipples were flat too. Don't get me wrong, breastfeeding is no walk in the park! I know that first hand. But just say you'd rather formula feed. As long as the baby is healthy and happy, I don't care how you feed them! @katarama @harleyquinn420

Couldn't agree more! Can't believe people would say that. I've always said fed is best also! I love breastfeeding but it isn't everyones cup of tea or just cant do it.

I had to use nipple shields for that same reason @katarama, @dijahhh my nipples were soooo sore after breastfeeding the first time but I didn't give up. I breastfed for 6 weeks and then had to stop because I got an infection from the nurses checking me for dilation every hour when I was in the hospital and my doctor prescribed me an antibiotic that I couldn't breastfeed while taking so my milk dried up. It made me sad cuz there are so many benefits to breastfeeding. Not just for baby but for mom too. I have nothing against formula though. I know there are moms out there that really can't breastfeed for a multitude of reasons so I'm glad formula is an option. Not just for those that can't but also for those that don't want to. 100 years ago all you had was breast milk, if you couldn't breastfeed then you had another woman breastfeed your child and that to me is just, weird, and, unsanitary.....

It took me a month to get my dd to latch. I never blamed her but myself and it really depressed me. When she finally latched I was in tears I was so happy and excited. I agree with you, it isn't baby's fault!!

Yes!! The day that my baby girl latched without the shield, I was so proud and excited! I couldn't get her to latch without the shield for awhile, but I never gave up! I've also been fortunate enough to not have to go back to work yet, and she is almost 4mo now. I know that if I had to go back right away, I probably would have more issues breastfeeding. I'm not judging ya know, I completely understand! Just don't blame baby. @imhermomduh

I never even used a shield I didn't get what they were for at the time. I just tried boob first and then pumped. I was able to breast feed for 14 months! And working and breastfeeding is hard. I was going to be a florist, when dd was 3 mos and they wanted me to work for 12 hours a day and after 1 day and my boobs engorged so bad I just couldn't do it. I would've had to give up all my hard work to breastfeed and it wasn't worth it. @dijahhh

I wish I could've breastfed longer than I did!! I just didn't like the affect my medicine had on her! She was sooo sluggish!! She was so unresponsive like if I was to hold her she just be extra limp even if she was awoke and I cried and cried because she only acted like that after I breastfed her 😞 I wish I could've did it longer though 😥

Yeah so it really hurts my feelings when I hear women don't want to breastfeed for their own selfish reasons like "I wanna smoke" or "I'm not breastfeeding because I wanna drink" you know it's like that's a bonding experience only a mother has with her child and the fact I couldn't do it anymore made me feel horrible I literally cried to my mama and boyfriend because I felt I didn't have a way to bond with her anymore 😞😥💔
