Quick question for mommies of babies who eat solids. (Don't tell me what a doctor said, tell me what your babies are doing!) Ajani has no interest in solids at all, as far as eating. He likes to touch and grab food but he doesn't bring it to his mouth. Did any other babies start this way? (He's EBF. We aren't in any hurry to have him eat other things, just seeing how other babies transitioned since we haven't had a baby in 9 years.)
We chose elephants because that's her daddy's favorite!
I'm the same way. Although we bed share. I'm trying to break that habit soon tho. It's been so much fun. And she still nurses a lot. Our daughters theme is elephants! She has so many elephants and elephant toys! Lol I really hope she likes them as much as we do
@santistevanmommie, I like the idea of letting him lead. 😄 Most moms in my area think I'm weird. I do Baby wearing, nursing on demand, and he doesn't sleep in my bed but he does have a co-sleeper nest beside it. I'm an elephant mama lol
It could be! I think baby led weaning is really great. And it makes me feel better because I know what she's eating. She eats whatever we eat and I've only changed my diet a little so it's safe for her
@santistevanmommie, thank you! Perhaps that's his deal. I'm not sure. He hates baby food tho!!! @mrscruz0530 let's keep each other posted!
My daughter didn't start solids until 8 months because she had no interest in baby food and very little interest in table food. At 8 months we started baby led weaning and she loves it
Oh how funny Natalie is 2-29! Maybe I'll try potato and see how she likes it thanks !
@mrscruz0530, Ajani is 5 months. His birthday is 2-28. 💙 He was smashing a bit of my potato in his fingers earlier today. (I eat my baked potatoes plain.) He was very interested in the texture but didn't get any to his mouth. He's never really done that so intently before tho, so I think he might be ready soon!
What did you try ? And how old is Ajani now? I'm curious about this too @tayek
Girllll no. My daughter was always eating like she was going through a growth spurt. She would always try stuff at least twice before she learned to turn away from it lol. I started with the little yogurt bite things. They melt in their mouth so when she got two teeth I started with that so she could learn to bite down on stuff.
@teambarnes, awww that's exactly what I think he will do. Did she turn away if you offered it? I offered him a tiny bit today and he turned. I figure he isn't ready, but I don't wanna press too much OR miss the signal that he wants to try but doesn't know how.
My daughter took forever to actually bring food to her mouth. For the longest time I was hand feeding her cheerios and puffs and whatnot. Finally she picked up on it when I let her figure it out and watch me.
@theinkedmommy awwwww my baby girl!
