the zika virus is only a threat while in the first trimester?

@_jfelder_, first and beginning of 2nd is what my doctor said they really worry about. he said that if you got while in the 3rd trimester they don't really think baby would be affected much but he said it's one of those things you wouldn't know for a few years. but that's just my doctor! some ppls doctor aren't worried about it and then some are way more cautious about it I guess

Yeah thats I was thinking I'm in my 3 trimester and yeah it won't harm you I was so worried about this virus for awhile.

I wonder why they say it doesn't affect the babies in the 3rd? did any the doctors give a reason?

@kandice_stedman86, my doctor said it's because the brain and skull formation is basically done forming and no major organs are trying to develop sp you wouldnt actually see any changes in baby on an ultrasound like you would first trimester or so. but he said they don't know if it could cause learning disabilities later in life or something. then he told me that not every pregnant woman who has had it has had their child affected by it so I guess it's just luck... which is even scarier

oh gosh!!! so crazy and scary... I know I've gotten bit this past week and it's so nerve racking, didn't get bit at all 1st and 2nd trimester and I barely go out and I was wearing mosquito repellant hopefully it was a flea that bit me...I knew eventually it would get over to the states naturally.

@kandice_stedman86, I know I'm starting to get mosquito bites and I'm like greatttt lol but I only have 4 weeks left so maybe I'll get lucky and miss it all lol
